U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., said today there will be a "public option" in whatever health insurance reform bill comes out of Congress.
"We are going to have a public option before this bill goes to the president's desk," Reid said in a conference call with constituents, referring to some kind of government plan.
"I believe the public option is so vitally important to create a level playing field and prevent the insurance companies from taking advantage of us," he said.

Well, that's good news, but I'll remain skeptical. Let's remember who we're dealing with here: the supreme leader of all milquetoast, lukewarm MFers, Harry Reid. He better not mean the Olympia Snowe trigger option, a public option that would depend on the insurance companies refusing to reform their shakedown of citizens over the next five years. Weak. But that's Reid's middle name, so don't be surprised.
Nevertheless, I'll crack a grin and get off Harry's back for a minute. But that's it!
